Trying to Believe in Poetry

Pratt Institute presents “Trying to Believe in Poetry”, a thesis exhibition by FE Carvalho on display at the Steuben Gallery on Pratt’s Brooklyn Campus between May 13th-17th, from 1pm to 7pm daily.

An opening reception will be held on Monday, May 13th from 5-8pm.

Today, Trying to Believe in Poetry is a pure motion of resistance to the present systems of intolerance; distorted living interaction mediated by the digital. Here we find an introspection which is both barely noticed, and necessary for restoring the view of the everyday.

These experiments - prints and projections - unravel the poetry hidden in an excessively demanding urban quotidian. In this process, the first step is to reproduce a raw moment, where and when a poetic reaction arises...

Bringing one back the question: what is natural in the process of living?
